We picked Heaton's at the Klimpton Hotel primarily based on our experience at Cobalt.
My wife's cousins came to visit from Melbourne on Sunday and we decided to take them out to lunch. The meals we ordered from DoorDash were almost as good, cheaper, and more convenient. We will never go back there to eat, because the service is not worth the cost of the meal. Room Service, promised in 20 minutes, took over an hour and got half our order wrong (but they were closed when it was delivered so no way to address the problem). The second meal: she was rude, obnoxious, and mistaken in explaining the hours for a special day (with special costs for the meals). The first meal we ate there, the server clearly hated her job and longed to be elsewhere, barely crossed the line into courteous and helpful, but got the job done. The servers varied from grudging to horrid. dates, crab cake, shrimp cocktail burger, fish tacos, turkey club sandwich, salmon.The shrimp was overpriced, but everything was good.Įxcept the service. Everything we ordered was excellent: tuna nachos, bacon wrapped. The menu is limited and has some overlap from Cobalt, the restaurant at the hotel (Heaton's is the outdoor bar).

We stayed at the hotel for a week, ate at Heaton's twice plus ordered room service. Also, this is a good place to bring kids despite the bar scene. I look forward to returning and recommend. We were not staying at the hotel, but this didn't matter at all - we were treated very nicely. The hotel has a more formal (and more expensive) restaurant also. I would definitely go here again if I wanted a drink at the bar or a casual meal.
We actually weren't upset by the wait - the maitre 'd just did this to be super nice! The food was great and the view was amazing.

To make up for this, we were offered a free drink at the bar and then were surprised with a free appetizer. Although we had a reservation, there was a slight delay as they were very busy. Both have a great view of the beach/ocean. It is casual - there were people there who were dressed in swim coverups, but I wore. It is part of the Kimpton Hotel and located adjacent to the pool. My husband and I went to this restaurant for an early dinner while on vacation.
